from 12noon daily. The exhibition features a lively and diverse selection of works by area artists depicting food and food related themes. Well known area tile maker Katia McGuirk is exhibiting a large cement, handmade tile and iron “Raven Table” that is ideal for indoor or outdoor use. Other sculptural pieces include a steel, leather and handblown glass bench by Ray Mathis, a “Mamabo Bus” sculpture by Susanne Pitak Davis and Steven Snyder’s whimsical, carved stone “Dessert Plate”. Painters also had a little fun with the theme like Annelies van Dommelen’s abstract watercolor “Fresh Fish” and Robert Beck’s “Red Boy” depicting a bright red lobster perched on a dinner plate – ready to be served. A number of artists are exhibiting still lifes of food including watercolors by Gail Bracegirdle, Jo-Ann Osnoe, and oils and acrylics by J.C. Turner, Marie Finn, Dot Bunn, Sharon Nieburg and Nura Petrov. The show is completed by the intimate, cleverly titled lino prints by Susan Roseman and James Feehan’s humorous solar plate etching “Shipping Mews”. Franca Fusco also exhibited hand printed and embroidered table linens and accessories for the night of the opening reception.
The” Starving Artist Award” for Best In Show included gift certificates for a number of area eateries including The Lumberville Store, The Café at Rosemont, Crossroads Bakery, Errico’s Market & Deli, New Hope Natural Food Market, Duck Soup, Giuseppi’s Pizza, Meil’s, Dilly’s Corner,49 N.
