September 11 Relief Efforts

Stanley Cleaners of New Hope and Lambertville have dry-cleaned American flags free for 50 years. They are continuing this service but set up a donation box for those wishing to contribute to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

More than 100 local businesses will donate a portion of their day's receipts on Monday, Sept. 24 to the Red Cross in the name of the citizens of New Hope and Lambertville. Call 609-397.1898 and learn how to join the effort. .

The New Hope Chamber of Commerce will donate the proceeds from its annual “High Heel Race” set for Oct. 27 in New Hope to the victims of the attack.

Carol Ross photographed the New York skyline last spring and has made cards of the photo of the World Trade Center twin towers to sell on behalf of families of firefighters who died in the rescue attempt. All profits from the sale will be donated to the families. Cards are available from the Solebury branch of the First National Bank.

A memorial candlestick stamped with the Latin phrase that means, “After Darkness, Light”, a replica of the original design by Henry Chapman Mercer, is being sold as a memorial to the victims of 9-1l. Sponsored by the Bucks Co. Dept. of Parks & Rec., profits from the sale will go to relief funds.
