Robert Whitley has had two presidential commission, one of which was to recreate a precise copy of the original presidential desk used by President Kennedy. which is now installed in the John F. Kenndy Memorial Library in Boston, Massachusetts.

Robert Whitley's works are exhibited in the permanents collections of the National Museum of Fine Arts, the Smithonian, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Independence Hall and many other museums and private collections.
