MISS GAY PENNSYLVANIA USofA PAGEANT 2002
The 10th Annual Miss Gay Pennsylvania USofA Pageant 2002 will be held Saturday, March 9,
2002 at The Eagle Firehouse Ballroom on Sugan Road at Rt. 202 in New Hope, PA. Doors will
open at 6:00pm. The hostess for the evening festivities will be Natasha Richards, Miss Gay
USofA 1996. Tickets are $45 per person and include admission to several parties and
receptions in addition to the Pageant itself. A portion of the proceeds will benefit
Family Services of Bucks County HAP Program for people living with AIDS in the community.

Ticket holders are invited to attend the Meet the Contestants Party on Friday, March 8,
2002 at 9:00pm at Raven Hall on Rt. 202 in New Hope. Following the Pageant guests are
invited to attend an After Party at The Cartwheel, Rt. 202 in New Hope. The evening events
at the Eagle Firehouse Ballroom include a pre-show Cocktail Reception with Erika Norell,
Miss Gay USofA 2001, which will feature hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. The pageant itself
will be hosted by Natasha Richards and promises to be an exciting mix of local talent and
great entertainers from across the United States. In addition to contestants vying for the
2002 crown special appearances will be by current Miss Gay USofA 2001 Erika Norell, Miss
Gay Pennsylvania USofA 2001 Karen Covergirl and Miss Gay Pennsylvania USofA 1997 Victoria
Lace, host of Drag Search every Monday night at the Cartwheel in New Hope. Contestants
will be judged in the Evening Gown Competition and Talent Competition. The Personal
Interviews will take place with judges on Friday. The winner and first runner up from the
New Hope competition will continue on to compete for the title of Miss Gay USofA in Dallas
Texas in May. The winners are awarded a crown, cash awards and provided with airfare and
hotel accommodations for the national pageant. The Pageant is an open competition and
interested individuals may call to register.
Pageant producer Jennifer Wohl describes the event as a very exciting evening. The
productions are amazing and watching the transformation of these men into woman is like
nothing you've ever seen. The event which traditionally sells out is in her words, "a
wonderful mix of people from the gay and straight community who come together to celebrate
our diversity, it's a real New Hope night. For information about participating as a
