The Arts Community of Easton – ACE- has announced a call for entries
for River Rites: In Celebration of Shad, an exhibition of artwork depicting
fish, fishing, and scenes along the region’s rivers and waterways to be held
this spring in Easton, PA. Deadline for submissions is March 13, 2003 and is
open to all artists working in the following disciplines: painting,
sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, digitally created work, and
mixed media.
The exhibition which will run from April 18 - May 11, 2003 at Connexions
Gallery and Innovare Gallery is sponsored by the ACE for the “Shad Arts
Celebration,” in conjunction with the 21st Annual Forks of the Delaware Shad
Fishing Tournament and Festival, to be held April 26 - May 4, 2003, in
Easton, Pa.

"Bats of New Jersey" Subject of Bucks County Audubon Society Meeting
The Bucks County Audubon Society presents "Bats of New Jersey" on Tuesday,
March 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Audubon Visitor Center at Honey Hollow
Environmental Education Center. Habitat needs and other fascinating facts
about the bat species that inhabit New Jersey and much of eastern
Pennsylvania will be presented by Rick Duto of the New Jersey Endangered and
Nongame Species Program. This is a regularly scheduled meeting of the Bucks
County Audubon Society.
The program is free, donations are accepted. The Audubon Visitor Center at
Honey Hollow is located at 2877 Creamery Rd., New Hope, PA, off Route 263,
two miles east of Peddlers Village.
"Bats of New Jersey" is one of a series of Bucks County Audubon Society
meetings held monthly and the open to the public. For more information on

Audubon Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving
wildlife, promoting awareness of environmental problems, educating the
community about the interdependence of humans and the natural world, and

The "Simplicity Circle", an on-going study group sponsored by the Bucks
County Audubon Society, will meet on Wednesday, March 12 from 7:00 to 8:30
p.m. at the Audubon Visitor Center. Participants in this informal study
group examine a range of ideas that help simplify their lives, and in the
process, create a more sustainable environment. The group meets twice
monthly on Wednesdays through June 18. The next meeting will take place on
March 26. There is no fee and no registration required. Call the Bucks

Spring Equinox Night Hike at Honey Hollow
On Thursday, March 20 from 6:30 8:00 p.m. the Bucks County Audubon Society
celebrates the return of the sun to the northern hemisphere with a family
oriented "Equinox Night Hike" at the Honey Hollow Environmental Education
Center, 2877 Creamery Road, New Hope, PA. Registration is required by March
15. The program fee is $8.00; Bucks County Audubon members $5.00. An adult
must accompany children. For registration and further information call the
Bucks County Audubon at (215) 297-5880. After a short introduction,
registered participants will hike the trails of Honey Hollow in search of
nighttime inhabitants and learn some adaptations that help nocturnal animals
survive through the night. Weather permitting, the hike will include a short
tour of the night sky at the equinox.

Roos
Interviewed By Suzanne de Vegh at the Trenton City Museum on Friday
evening March 21st at 7PM. Ms. Roos has created work that has chosen the
wall over the floor, constructed of mostly found materials, rope, wheels,
ladders, wood, reassembled in a new interpretation exposing current
emotional climates in a non traditional way. The sculptures take on both the
real and metaphorical qualities of the objects incorporated.

Creek is scheduled for March 22 and 23. Kayakers and canoeists will be able
to ride the rapids for four miles from Ralph Stover State Park to the
