Mark Your Calendar For An Evening of Great Food & Festivities November 9.  November 9, 2003 promises to be a great day of community working for community as area restaurants, chefs, artists and businesses all join together to support the Lambertville Fire Department and the needs of Lambertville’s four fire companies. The 5
Alarm Firehouse Supper & Benefit Auction will begin at 4:30pm at the River Room at the Lambertville Station with cocktail and hors d’oeuvres prepared by some of the area’s finest chefs. At 5:00 pm New Hope Mayor Larry Keller will auction off a variety of items and services donated to the effort. “This is not your ordinary auction. This auction will feature everything from car detailing, plumbing services or building materials to paintings by Lambertville artists and beautiful items from area design shops and galleries.” explained auction chairperson Nate Waldron. Bruce Rock added “We want this to be a really fun auction where everyone finds something they want to bid on and we want it all to say how great it is to be part of a community like Lambertville.” When the auction closes at 6:30pm guests will move onto one of four firehouses where area restaurants will be preparing traditional firehouse standards with their own culinary flair. Hamilton’s Grill Room will be preparing a Roast Beef Dinner at the Fleetwing Fire House, Lambertville Station will be making a Roast Turkey Supper at Union Fire Company, and Jackie Bowe’s new restaurant Sideways Café will be serving Grandma Sophie’s Meatloaf with mushroom gravy at the Columbia Fire House.
