March 18, 2004
The Bucks County Playhouse, located in New Hope, Pennsylvania, is looking for actors to appear in the season opening production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Ensemble roles are open and the Playhouse is looking for families and any groups who may want to join the production. Jesus Christ Superstar is set to run from Thursday, April 1 through Sunday, April 11, 2004.
Anyone interested in joining the cast may simply attend the first rehearsal on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 7 PM. Prior theatrical experience is not necessary.
With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar is a rock opera. The musical score includes such notable songs as “I Don’t Know How To Love Him” and the title song “Jesus Christ Superstar.” The story recounts the last seven days in the life of Christ and is told in a campy style.
The Bucks County Playhouse production of Jesus Christ Superstar will run from April 1 thru April 11, 2004. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8 PM, Saturday at 4 PM with matinees on Thursday and Friday at 11 am. During the second week of performances, matinees will be on Thursday at 11 AM and Friday at 2 PM, Ticket prices range from $22.00 to $24.00 for all performances. A “Day of Show Only” student discount is available to students 21 years of age or under when a valid student identification is presented at the Box Office at the time of purchase. On March 20, 2004, Richard Jarboe will appear in “Port & Poetry Part Deux” at the Canal Studio located at 243 North Union Street, Lambertville, NJ. The concert will be held at 7:00 pm.
Mr. Jarboe is a rare poet whose thoughts range from verses about science, religion, hillbillies, Moby Dick, Love, the blues, genetics, the shapes of peoples heads and how to deal when god smacks his apocalypse. Mr. Jarboe has performed his one-man poetry act in New York City and Los Angeles as well as many part between. His “Port and Poetry” concert will be held on March 20, 2004 at 7:00pm and include the retelling of the “Ramayanna” (a Hindu Epic) as well as “Hot Rod Gospel” and his love ode to Elephantine entitled “Hefty Love”.
