3rd Annual New Hope Indoor Sculpture Exhibition

A New Hope Arts, Inc. Event - Indoor Sculpture Show to coincide with the New Hope Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition. Open to sculptors working in all media. Maquettes, proposals and rendering for larger works, installations and mixed media pieces are welcome. High visibility for artists – Ongoing marketing program - Accepted artwork is insured. Exhibition opens April 9, 2005 and continues through May 1, 2005.

Kehilat HaNahar, the Little Shul by the River, will now offer a monthly musical Shabbat service featuring the guitar and vocal stylings of Deva Troy. The services will include traditional Jewish folk music and original compositions, along with traditional Shabbat prayers, readings and chants. Troy, a long-time resident of New Hope, is well known for her beautiful voice and guitar playing. Troy started her musical career as a song leader in the Pennsylvania Federation of Temple Youth (PAFTY), and taught music at Main Line Reform Temple’s Shul school. She is a singer and songwriter of uplifting, inspirational music.
“Adding a monthly musical Shabbat service is just another way we’re responding to our community member’s interests,” said Rabbi Sandy Roth. “Deva adds an extra bit of excitement to our already lively Friday night services.”

Bucks County Audubon Society presents Preschool Explorers “Tracking”. Explorers, ages 3 to 5 years, accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver, will see what clues animals have left behind on the trails of Honey Hollow. Registration is requested by January 12, 2005 for the Tuesday morning session, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. or either the Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon session, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Fees for children only are non-members $12 per child, BCAS members $10 per child. SPECIAL OFFER: Book three sessions scheduled for January 18 through March 2 and the fourth one is free. Payment is required at the time of registration. Space is limited. Kehilat HaNahar, the Little Shul by the River, will host an Erev Shabbat Service on ‘Women of the Bible’ with Rabbi Rayzel Raphael next week. The service will offer an interactive opportunity for participants to explore the role of women in the Bible through music and discussion. Rabbi Raphael is a singer, songwriter and Rabbinic Director of the Faithways Project of Jewish Family and Children's Service of Greater Philadelphia. She is co-recipient of a Philadelphia Federation Continuity Grant to develop Shabbat Unplugged, featuring musical Shabbat and Havdalah services. In addition to her collaborative projects, she has a solo CD, “Bible Babes A'Beltin”.
“Rabbi Rayzel is an accomplished musician, artist and scholar, and we’re honored to have her join us at our Little Shul,” said Rabbi Sandy Roth of Kehilat HaNahar. “She’ll provide a wonderfully creative and entertaining program that I’m sure our congregants and others members of the community will enjoy.” Shabbat Services with Rabbi Raphael will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21. The Swan Creek Rowing Club of Lambertville will hold a rebuilding party and auction at 7:30 pm at the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad Banquet Hall. Tickets are $25 at the door.
