"Scenes I Needed to Paint" -Mike Mann's Art at Bell's Tavern
The original watercolor and acrylic paintings of Mike Mann will be on display at Bell's Tavern- a Lambertville neighborhood landmark since the 1940's. Some 25 colorful, impressionistic, and mostly local scenes will be shown from March 13th through April 26. You can meet the artist at the resturant on opening night.
Mike, a local, plein air painter, can often be spotted at his easel on the roadside or wherever an interesting view draws him. He studied at the Art Students League under the great illustrator, Steven R. Kidd. Mike’s work has been shown in various venues throughout the area. This will mark his third annual solo spring show.
Bell's Tavern is located at 183 N. Union Street. Lambertville, NJ. It is open Monday's through Thursdays from 6 to 9:30pm, on Friday and Saturdays from 5 to 10 pm and from 5 to 9pm Sunday's. An Exciting Array of Student Work Featured at New Hope Arts Center
The Special 2 Week Exhibition Features Artwork from New Hope Solebury and Hunterdon High & Middle School Students. Students from South Hunterdon Regional High School and New Hope-Solebury School District are collaborating on a community art exhibit entitled "Two Schools of Art". The work created by students will be on exhibition at the New Hope Arts Center, 2nd floor, 2 Stockton Avenue at the corner of Stockton and Bridge Streets. An opening night reception will be held Friday, March 16, 2007 from 6pm until 8pm and the exhibit will run two weeks through March 29, 2007. Gallery hours are Thursday - Sunday from 12pm - 5pm.
Please come out to support the arts and an amazing opportunity for students to show their work in a professional gallery setting. The exhibition will contain 2 dimensional work and large scale sculptural works - all showcasing the type of arts programming available to area students. The show is free and open to the public. On Friday, March 23 New Hope Academy is hosting a Family Fun Night. Pasta, meatballs and sausage with peppers will be served. A Madden Football tournament will be played on two large screens featuring surround sound systems. There will be karaoke and an open mike for comedians. A bingo game is also planned. The fun filled event will run from 6-9 PM at the school, located at 301 Oxford Valley Rd, Building 1701, Yardley, PA. All are invited. The cost is $10 with the proceeds going to sponsor the prom.
