Great site! I grew up in Pt. Pleasant, walking to "Clymer's" on a daily basis. Old Mrs. Wood selling dried flowers by the side of the road. Winter skating for miles up the canal...summer rowing to nowhere. Simply paradise!

NY DEP has insured we get screwed again. It's near spring & heavy storms and the 3 reservoirs they control are yet again all at over 100% capacity. For the river levels predicted for tomorrow; any one that gets flooded is courtesy of NYDEP.

I have always found New Hope to be a place where I can go and relax, walk the streets, stop in the shops, and generally have a wonderful time. I am concerned with some of the things I have read about what is happening there with the "government". I pray that the local folks will take care of this wonderful place and not allow any pencil-necked politican geek cause any harm to what I consider a second home.

Maybe we could do less to support business in town...maybe throw nails in the streets? Post "Warning:Smallpox" signs at the entrances to town? Charge $20.00 to all who drive within a mile of downtown? And...in the middle of the borough...alongside miles of riverfront and canal walks, how about....a park? Cars can park in the thin air right? I mean - it's the business, of business to support the borough right...not the other way round? The Business of the Borough...to SUPPORT Business. Now there's an idea;.)

Used to be in New Hope a lot 20 years ago. Nice town.Just bought a 1774 history of the quakers inscribed by John and Matthew Parry in 1774 and 1789 and Richard Randolph Parry's undated stamp - must be the same as in your website.Does the Parry family still live in New Hope?

Visited New Hope for the first time on October 12. Was disappointed to see that store fronts were either empty and for rent or just plain closed with no hours posted. It was 11:00 a.m. on a Friday. Big day for tourists. Researched New Hope on this website before trip. Won't be back!

In 1975 my husband and I received a beautiful seascape (evening scene)by the artist Matson. I enjoy the painting and I would like to find out more about the artist. The painting was purchased by our friend who lived in Glenside but enjoyed the New Hope area for antiques and art. I believe the painting may have been purchased either in New Hope or Doylestown area where she later went into the antique business. I have no way of reaching her at this time. Thank you for any help. Sincerely, Maria Regan My e-mail is: conniecalab@hotmail.com I am a landscape artist and I love your site.

HELP....I came to New Hope once (it was cold, before Christmas), and walked around to the different shops and outside they had this huge pot that they had someone making soup in, which they were selling. I just loved this and I was wondering if anyone knew if they still do this and when? Thank you in advance for your help.

Your Business community needs to get together and do something about your ticket crazed police officers. We will not be back because of this reason. There are plenty of nice quaint villages around to visit that welcome their guests.

I love New Hope & Lambertville! I go there every chance I get. In fact, I'd love to relocate & live there. All I'd need is a good job there and a place to live and I'd be all set! Can't wait to go there again. There's something special about that area - feels like home!

New Hope can do without a Dunkin donuts. I will think again before coming back to New Hope. The committee members have no respect for the local businesses that are providing similar goods. It is very sad when commercial sites are moving in. No reason to return!
