Sophie's Column

This is my column on what's new or trendy in my school. I'll have news, outlooks and links. Once a month i will be updating my column.

November 2001

Opinions: Well since the campaigns are starting I'm going to talk about
that a little in this column.

My friend Sarah and I were discussing the campaign techniques of people this year. We were talking about how we thought that people would be a little bit more sensitive about what they say towards each other. Since the bombings and terrorism have occurred. But no, They can't be even a little bit more caring and sensitive caring. Every time you turn around there is someone else talking about how horrible the other person is or how they vote, etc.! It seems the immaturity level of these people is higher then two 13-year-old girls are! Is that what the United States of America is coming to? We are one of the best nations in the world and yet we can't be nice to each other. Every thing is a competition and in a way it makes me sick that these are the people who are voicing our options for us.

My friends Christine, Sarah, Imanta, Nicole, and Jenny went to a Dream
Street concert last Friday and we had so much fun. But there were so
many people there! Between every song they had to stop and keep telling people to back up. Everybody was so squished that they were getting to hot and fainting. They were literally dragging people up on to the stage and off into the side of the stage. We had so much fun though. After the concert we went shopping and had such an exciting night.

Saturday the 17th is GuyFox. It's an English Holiday that one of my
Best friend's old neighbors celebrated, because they were English. So
happy Guyfox everybody!

So what does everybody think about this whole terrorism thing? Has
anyone flown since the incident? E-mail me if you have to have any
thoughts on the situation.

My friend Mickey is a little bit slow but he's sooo funny. He imitates
this guy on MadTV. This guy "Steward" jumps up and down and claps his hands and says " I don't wanna do it". It's so funny! So the other day I
walked into English Class and my teacher who is a short red haired Irish
woman who was imitating Mickey doing this. I had just come back from the bathroom so I had no idea what was going on and I just about fell on the floor laughing!
