Sophie's Column

This is my column on what's new or trendy in my school. I'll have news, outlooks and links. Once a month i will be updating my column.

December 2001

I can't believe it's December already! It's warm here too. It's been
like 60 the last few days! I can't believe it.

I was so mad at my chorus teacher yesterday. He was reading a chapter
from this book called "Don't sweat the small Stuff". He was talking
about how we should believe in ourselves and be confident. I was
thinking to myself This from the guy who said to me "Your not trying
Sophie!" I got so angry. He was being such a hypocrite.

One of my best friends' Elizabeth, and I were talking about getting
together. So the day before her Birthday Party I went and slept over the
night before so I could help her set up. Blow up balloons and stuff like
that. So I did and we had so much fun. At one point in the party we all
were on the floor playing a game and this guy named Louis who I go to
school with came up behind me and Liz and tickled us. And we looked
behind us and saw Patrick, her little brother, so we thought it was him
and tickled him till he cried and it was so funny! At one point all the
people at the party were on the floor tickling each other.

It's almost Christmas now!! I'm really excited but I have one little
problem with Christmas. I don't know what I want. I'm considering just
asking for money or gift certificates but then there is no really
surprise. I want a cell phone but I know my dad won't get me one. But
these days I actually think it's kind of better if teens have cell
phones. Because I always go to Frenchtown with my friends and none of
them have phones and it's hard to find a pay phone there so it would be
easier to get in touch with him to tell him where I am. I just got in
trouble for that exact thing! L

It is soooo warm this winter I was kind of hoping for a harsh snowy and
haley, etc. winter. I love winter. I don't really like summer because I
look like a grasshopper in shorts. Shhh! Well anyway I like to go to the
beach and everything I just don't like summer. I like it better in those
snow storms in the middle of a school night that we know will be
canceled and so we wake up bundle up and go play manhunt with all the
other kids in the neighborhood. Me and my neighbors do that all the
time. I just like the snowy weather better.
