The documentation that came with your PC and monitor will list the screen resolutions your equipment supports. Once you have determined what settings are supported, the below steps list how to change your system settings. Only input settings supported by your equipment. Recommend using 1024 X 768 and true color, if supported..

Windows 95 & 98:
Start
Settings
Control Panel
Double click on the "Display" Icon
Click "Settings" tab
Move the slider under "Desktop Area" to 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768
Under "Color Palette" - select High Color (16 bit) or True Color (24 bit)
Click on OK
A window will come up saying that Windows will resize your desktop and if Windows does not appear correctly, wait 15 seconds and your original setting will be restored. Click OK.

Windows NT 4.0
Start
Settings
Control Panel
Double click on "Display" icon
Move the slider under Desktop Area" to 800 X 600 or 1024 X 768
Click on Test (to check functionality of new setting)
Did you see the Test Bitmap properly: Yes or No (if the resized screen appears correctly select yes, if not select no and your original setting will be restored).
Under "Color Palette" select "16777216 colors" or "True color".
Click on OK
