July, 2002:  Some of the advertising on TV goes beyond annoying, either because the advertiser feels compelled to repeat the commercial so frequently that one feels they are being vomited on - or the claims are so outrageous that it's apparant they are targeting those with diminished capacity.
The high powered Bowflex commercials are run repeatedly (over & over & over) on some of the shows I watch. Their particular product might actually be useful for out of shape middle ages, but they lose any chance of a sale here, due to the frequency at which they throw their hype in my face. Furthermore, I find it implausable that I could resemble the bronze god on the right, after a mere 6 weeks of using their product (20 minutes a day - 3 times a week). Go away Bowflex!!

Then we have Worldwide Phone Card Corporation and TeleKing Corporation (and they do like to spell out corporation, as if that somehow makes them ligitimate). Why - all you gotta do is make a minimum investment and work part time and you'll be livin' in a mansion, have your own private jet and the money will be literally falling from the sky. Better rush to sign up now too, as availability may be limited in your area.

Who needs Al Qaeda? We already have the Enron & Worldcom CEO's, Worldwide Phone Card Corporation, TeleKing Corporation and numerous other outfits who are already doing a fine job of reducing our culture to slease!
